About
Perry Ink.
Greg Perry
A native British Columbian with a passion for all things cartoon, Perry
attended a Fine Arts program after graduation and afer several years of hard
work, his dream of becoming an editorial cartoonist came true. In addition,
he was recognized with several Thomson national awards for both illustration
and feature writing. Perry moved to New Brunswick in 1997, where, during his
time with a newspaper there, he landed several Top Journalism Awards for
Editorial Cartooning, including both the Gold and Silver awards in 2000.
His time editorial cartooning in New Brunswick wasn¹t without controversy
however. He was sued by the CEO of a public utility, made headlines and the
evening news for drawing a cartoon which made Premier Bernard Lord cry. He
was also unanimously condemned by the New Brunswick legislature and various
municipal councils. This controversy and the offending cartoon were later
featured in a CBC documentary. In addition to upsetting politicians, Perry
was nominated for the 1999 East Coast Music Award for music reportage and is
recognized nationally as a music, theatre and movie critic. In 2004, Perry
relocated to the Toronto area, where he continues to syndicate his cartoons,
which appear daily in papers across Canada.
